Open Cinema Review

Write for us

Open Cinema Review welcomes pitches that help readers notice a specific, explainable choice in cinema. Send proposals through the Contact page; unsolicited finished articles are not a substitute for an agreed pitch.

What to pitch

We consider clear, original ideas about framing, editing, sound, design or film history. A strong proposal names its central question, the particular films or scenes it will discuss, the point readers will take away and why the subject suits this publication.

A useful shape

Keep the pitch focused enough to support with concrete examples. Explain any specialist term, distinguish interpretation from fact and avoid claims that depend on private access or unverified production stories. Do not send material that you do not have permission to share.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a short outline and relevant writing samples if available. A proposal is not a promise of publication; wait for agreement before drafting a full article.

Our point of view

Look closely before reaching a verdict

A film’s effect often begins in its construction. We name the choices on screen and leave room for viewers to decide what they mean.
